Who We Are
Back in 1967, the mythic ‘Summer of Love’, the place to be was the Cafe Au Go Go, Greenwich Village NY where the star band was The Blues Project, a group on the cutting edge of improvisational, classical, blues and jazz. Roy Blumenfeld was the drummer, the heartbeat for the band. Having started at the white hot centre of the emerging US music scene, Roy performed at some truly landmark events including The Monterey Pop Festival, Newport Jazz Festival and evenings at Lincoln Centre. Roy has performed and recorded with the most illustrious soul, funk, blues and rock legends including Chuck Berry, John Lee Hooker, Carlos Santana, Paul Butterfield, David LaFlamme (It's A Beautiful Day), Barry Melton (Country Joe & The Fish), Peter Albin (Big Brother & the Holding Company & Janis Joplin) and Robert Hunter (The Grateful Dead). Roy continues to envision music as the place where the mind, heart, spirit and soul intersect and bring inspiration, nourishment, and joy to the celebration of life.
David Aguilar is an accomplished rhythm & blues/slide guitarist and has been fortunate to play with artists such Bo Diddley, David & Linda LaFlamme(It’s A Beautiful Day), Bonnie Raitt, Roy Rogers, Maria Muldaur, Rich Kirch (John LeeHooker), Cliff Hugo (Ray Charles), Harvey Mandel, Doobie Brothers, Jackson Browne, Barry Melton (Country Joe & the Fish), Big Brother & the Holding Company, and others. He has been featured on recordings with artists including Natasha James, Norton Buffalo, Helen Mead, John Salz and most recently played on Lester Chamber’s latest recording, 'Lester’s Time has Come’. David truly enjoyed performing with the late harmonica virtuoso Norton Buffalo and his wife Lisa Flores as the Norton Buffalo and Friends trio. In 2013 David was recognized as Sonoma Treasure Artist of the Year for his musical talents and community contributions.
Special Guest Joining us on our 2016 UK musical endeavor is Steve Browning on Bass

He then concentrated more on the Blues and has been pretty true to the form ever since. He toured for a number of years with the UK 60’s legends The Pretty Things and also played with artists including Ronnie Spector (The Ronettes) and David Gilmour (Pink Floyd) and has since played in bands alongside renowned drummers Dave Mattacks (Fairport Convention), Robin Goodridge (Bush), Nigel Glockler (Saxon) and Brendan O’Neill (Rory Gallagher). More recently, Steve has been touring with Chicago Bluesman Khalif Wailin’ Walter and headlined at the 2011 Isle Of Wight Festival with US 60’s legends It’s A Beautiful Day. He is currently a member of Teed Up with drummer Bernie Fox and guitarist Steve Roux and he's about to embark on an eagerly anticipated Irish tour with the R&B trio The Sharpees featuring Rory Gallagher's drummer Brendan O'Neill.
